GlitchScaper is a rhythm machine consisting of six sound generators, each managed by a two-layer cycle sequencer, crafted for effortless creation of glitchy patterns and soundscapes.

For sparking new ideas promptly, each generator provides distinct options for crafting sequences and tones. The parameters for these sequences and tones are randomly set but under user-defined constraints, outlining the sequence steps and tone types or noises. This feature enables you to swiftly draft a pattern and then refine it to achieve the desired sound. Moreover, the advanced copy function allows you to efficiently create a new preset by duplicating sequences and tones from existing ones.

The tone generator produces vibrant and lush sounds based on 12 intricate waveforms or various noise types, including the option to utilize an external input as a signal source. The effects offered transform the tone from smoothly evolving to entirely filled with squeaks and rattles. Each effect is modulated by a specialized envelope generator with varying shapes that evolve throughout the sequencer steps.

Furthermore, the sound generators feature distinct spatial effects, along with a shared reverb space for all generators which contributes an ambient layer to the final mix. To enhance the mix further, the built-in harmonic exciter and bass enhancer can make it even more vivid or dynamic.

While GlitchScaper excels in producing simple beats with intriguing and unusual sounds, it was primarily conceived for creating digitally distorted patterns with longer steps that harmonize seamlessly with classic drum machines and sequencers.

GlitchScaper is a versatile application available on iOS and macOS platforms. It is compatible with iPhones, iPads, as well as Macs/MacBooks featuring an M1 chip or newer versions. Operating on iOS devices, GlitchScaper can function independently, as an Audio Unit or Inter-App Audio module, supporting Audiobus and Ableton Link. On MacOS, GlitchScaper works both as a standalone application and an Audio Unit (AUv3) with various DAWs and hosts that accommodate AUv3 plugins. All features of the application are accessible on both iOS and macOS platforms, including MIDI support (featuring MIDI learn) and audio unit parameters.
